Universal Studios Mardi Gras floats: Universal Studios unveils new Mardi Gras floats

Universal Studios Mardi Gras: A Blast for All Ages!

Universal Studios Mardi Gras
So I'm thinking, Universal Mardi Gras, this ought to be a tease whilst I wander the park with my kids. I will get to watch all the other people have fun while I stick to the kiddie section of the parks and stay sober. It's not that I mind having my kids with me, in fact taking my kids to Orlando is my favorite thing to do - just not during Mardi Gras.

As you may all ready be aware, Universal has loads of rides and things to do for kids, and it turns out, Universal Studios Mardi Gras is no different. We had quite a good time. All the kids favorite characters were dressed up and giving out beads, and the music was playing all through the park.

In fact, it was as fun as the real thing could be without booze - and waking up without a hangover isn't bad either.

More to Sea than Dolphins.

Seaworld Photo
For those of you who don't know, Seaworld in Orlando is located at the southern end of the International Drive map. You may also not be aware that Seaworld boasts more to see than just animal exhibits.
Next time you are in the area, take a minute to stop by the park to take in the scenery. You'll get some great pics!

Seaworld Shark Encounter: Like Mosquito's, Sans Bites.

Shark Encounter
For those of you who live outside of the city, or who have ever been fishing, you understand the feeling of mosquito's or black flies swarming around your head. You know, when you have to hold your breath to avoid inhaling one of the little ones. Well this is sort of the experience I got while visiting the Shark Encounter at Seaworld Orlando, except with magnificent creatures, and no bites.

It's like taking all those flies, magnifying them and watching them fly gracefully, in super slow mode. You can see every detail of these creatures, as if you are in the water with them, but you aren't - which is cool with me.

Next time you are in the Orlando area, crush your fear of Sharks and learn how graceful and beautiful they can be (except for their teeth), visit the Shark Encounter.

Cheap travel tips Orlando style!

Cheap Travel Tips Orlando
Whether you are going for the wonderful weather or for the lure of the Magic Kingdom, Orlando is a fantastic vacation destination. However, it can be very expensive to get around in and around Orlando. These cheap travel tips Orlando style are here to help you out and get the most out of your trip for less.

First of all, if you plan to fly in, Tuesday would be the best time to plan your trip. For whatever reason it is a proven fact that airfare is the lowest on Tuesday afternoon (around 2 PM EST). Booking on Tuesday or Wednesday could possible save you dozens of dollars. The money that you save can go to your trip.

Now you need a place to stay. Booking websites such as hotwire and priceline give you a great discount on your hotel in exchange for not revealing what hotel you are actually going to be staying at. So if you did not have a specific hotel in mind when you thought about coming to Orlando and only have a certain district or area you prefer to stay in, these are very good options indeed. Furthermore, I find Expedia offers great discounts as well, while being fully aware of the accommodations you are selecting.

Now that you have arrived you might want to do something other than just enjoy the sun all day. One great place to visit is Old Town. Old Town is relatively close to the Disney parks. If you like the look of an old fashioned amusement park this is a perfect place to be. It has arcade games for you to play, nostalgic shops and even a Ferris wheel. If you come on the weekend (Friday and Saturday night) you will be treated to live music. Best of all, you can never have to pay for admission and its open the entire year.

Universal Studios Mardi Gras Starts Soon.

A reminder to all you fun lovers out there.......Mardi Gras at Universal Studios Orlando will start February 12th and will continue until April 23rd.

I missed it last year by a single day, so check their website for more details to make sure you show up at the right times.

Cheers!

The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit vs. Rock n’ Rollercoaster: Which one is better?

I wonder if anyone else has pondered this same question – which ride is better: Disney’s Rock n’ Rollercoaster at Hollywood Studios or The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Orlando. If so, I have the answer:  you can’t compare apples and oranges.
I tried Rock n’ Rollercoaster a few years ago, so when the Rip Ride Rockit came out, honestly, I thought it was Universal’s version of Disney’s ride -  I couldn’t have been further from the truth. Both rides absolutely ROCK equally and are in no way similar, besides the word “Rock”.
The only way to learn this for yourself is to try both, to experience the incredible take-off of the Rock n’ Rollercoaster, and feel the awesome drop on the Rip Ride Rockit. These rides will both leave you feeling light on your feet!
Cheers!

Pictures of Harry Potter Theme Park at Universal Studios, Florida.

I will be honest, I am not a huge fan of Harry Potter - there, I said it! It's not that I don't like the movies so much as, I never watched them. This doesn't mean that I can't appreciate how cool the Harry Potter Theme Park at the Universal Studio Parks in Orlando is, because the reality is, it's AWESOME! My favorite ride was the Dueling Dragons - AHHH!

I have taken a few pictures for your enjoyment, be sure to check this park out whether your a fan of these movie or not, it's pretty cool - they even had some sort of pumpin juice.
